I was talking to my dear friend yesterday who is originally from the south. She has such a wonderful way of putting things sometimes. Yesterday she told me that she wanted to try and have her devotions in the morning instead of the afternoon when it was the kids nap time. She asked her kids if they would give her an hour alone so she could "Love on the Lord." She told them that she really needed to be with Jesus and hear what He wanted to share with her.
She has such a love for the Lord it is contagious. You can tell she longs to spend time with the Lord and depends on Him completely.
Well the kids did well playing quietly and giving her time to be with the Lord. She did share a story though that at the beginning her three year old daughter came into the room holding her doggie and a ribbon and said, "Momma, can you love on the Lord and put this ribbon on my doggie?"
Can you imagine what an impression those kids have about what it is like to spend time with the Lord? It is not a duty; it is not something you "should" do. They have witnessed their momma longing to be with the Lord, declaring her dependence on Him, and although the three year old might have just wanted a bow on her doggie, I also think her kids wanted to see what it was like to "love on the Lord."
I want to go “Love on the Lord” right now…
