Weird thing to take a picture of, I know. But this is what I was thinking of when I took this picture. There is no way we can enter into the presence of a Holy God on our own, we can’t even come close. We need someone to “bridge” the gap. Because of what Jesus accomplished on the cross we can enter into the very presence of God. Jesus was perfectly God and perfectly man. He never sinned. He was the perfect sacrifice. He paid the price for my sins so that when the Lord looks at me, He doesn’t see my sins, He sees His beloved Son. I can enter into heaven because of what Jesus did. Because of what Jesus did on the cross, this sign no longer applies to me. Have you trusted in Jesus? Have you asked Him to forgive you of your sins? Don’t wait until it is too late. Tomorrow is not promised to us. If you haven’t asked Jesus to save you from your sins, then whether you know it or not, this is the sign in front of you, keeping you from entering into His Kingdom.
The Good News is that it is easy to enter into His Presence. The Lord is waiting for you with open arms. Jesus tells us the story of the lost son. It is a story that tells us that no matter how badly we have sinned, the Lord will embrace us when we come home to Him.
"But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him." Luke 15:20
All you have to do is cry out to Jesus. Ask Him to forgive you of your sins. Ask Him to come into your life and save you. That’s it. He will answer your prayer.
I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the wonderful future He has promised to those He called. I want you to realize what a rich and glorious inheritance He has given to His people. I pray that you will begin to understand the incredible greatness of His power for us who believe Him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated Him in the place of honor at God's right hand in the heavenly realms. Ephesians 1:18-20
I wait for the LORD, my soul waits, and in His Word I put my hope. Psalm 130:5
My first thought when I saw the "Bridge Closed" sign?
Thank you Lord that sign no longer applies to me.
I pray that it doesn't apply to you either.
Trust in Him today and enter into the presence of a Holy, Faithful, Loving God.
Then you will know that I am the LORD; those who hope in Me will not be disappointed." Isaiah 49:23
